Advancing gender equality from the grassroots to the global stage — engaging the Commission on the Status of Women, the General Assembly, and the full UN system.
Our Global Presence
Gender Priority Strategy (GEPS) has participated in and contributed to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) for over 30 years. Our delegations have brought the voices of grassroots women from across Africa, Europe, and the Americas directly to the UN floor, translating lived experience into actionable global policy.
Through our UN engagement, GEPS has helped shape language and commitments in key resolutions aligned with the Beijing Platform for Action, SDG 5, and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Our work bridges the gap between international declarations and on-the-ground realities faced by women worldwide.
2030 Agenda
Every GEPS program is anchored to specific SDGs, ensuring our advocacy translates into measurable global impact.
Commission on the Status of Women
GEPS delegations attend the annual Commission on the Status of Women session in New York, participate in side events, present position papers, and engage in negotiations that shape global commitments on gender equality. Our voice is the voice of millions of women at the grassroots.
"We do not come to the United Nations as observers. We come as advocates, as witnesses, and as architects of change — Women for Women by Women."
Our Commitments
Three distinct modes of engagement that ensure GEPS influence is felt across the full UN architecture.
Join GEPS delegations, co-sponsor side events, or collaborate on advocacy campaigns at the next CSW session. Together, we amplify the voices of women everywhere.
